Recreational (Bandits): **REGISTRATION CLOSES 7/31/2021**
Bigfork Soccer Club offers a recreational soccer experience for those players that are new to the game or are looking for a soccer experience with less of a commitment than our competitive program. The goal of our Bandits program is help kids fall in love with soccer in a pressure free environment. Players will be exposed to all positions and playing time will be divided equally. Our coaches are encouraged to focus on having players spend as much time on the ball as possible and to have as much fun as possible doing so!
Who: The Bandits program is open to all Pre-K through Middle School aged players, boys and girls. Teams depend on the number of players who sign up in each age level.
Practice/Games: Our Bandits teams typically practice twice per week in the afternoon and have Saturday games with our valley cohorts (Kalispell, Whitefish and Columbia Falls). Bigfork’s home fields are located at Carlyle-Johnson Park just off Hwy 83. There are no weekend games for Pre-K/Kinders.
Season: Six weeks from September to October (will update as we get closer)
Gear: Bandits registration includes a t-shirt, no uniform is necessary. All players are required to have cleats and shin guards for practices and games.
Fees: $95 (includes team t-shirt)
Coaching: The Bandits program relies on volunteers, mainly parents, to coach the teams. We understand that this can be an intimidating step to make but encourage anyone interested to give it a shot! We will host a coaching clinic and season overview prior to the season on Tuesday, August 31 at 6pm to get everyone all ready to go!
Competitive (Storm): **REGISTRATION CLOSES 7/31/2021**
For players seeking a more competitive soccer environment, Bigfork Soccer Club encourages participation in our Storm program. Storm players will see an increased focus on individual skill development and tactical play. Competitive soccer requires more of a time commitment from players and families both. Our Storm coaches are paid and required to meet the MYSA coaches training requirements to ensure that players are being appropriately prepared for the high school game and beyond.
Who: The Storm program is open to players with birth years 2004-2012, boys and girls. Teams depend on the number of participants per age group that sign up.
Practice/Games: Storm teams will practice at Carlyle-Johnson Park or Swan River School in Bigfork two or three times per week in the afternoon. There will be a minimum of four weekends of Saturday games (two games per day). Most games are played in the western part of Montana depending on available competition.
Season: Late August through October.
Evaluations: All Storm participants are required to attend an evaluation session with our coaches to ensure that each child is placed with the team that gives them and their peers the best possible opportunity to succeed and improve their skills.
Players must attend at least one of the following evaluation sessions at Carlyle Johnson Fields off Highway 83 in Bigfork, and are welcome to attend both:
- 8/10, 5:30-7:30
- 8/17, 5:30-7:30
Fees: $200 includes registration, Home/Away jersey.
**TOURNAMENTS**: All teams will be encouraged to participate in our local tournaments and beyond. Participation in these tournaments will be an additional charge when the team has decided to play.
Each Storm team is required to have a team referee that has completed the US Soccer Grassroots Referee program, paid for by BSC. For more information on becoming a certified referee, contact Adam Baumann @ email@example.com
(Competitive players will be required to upload a passport style photo and a birth certificate during registration if not done in previous seasons).
